Our Services

Corns and Calluses Removal

Corns and calluses are a buildup of hard, thick areas of skin. There are many reasons that corns and calluses can form including poor fitting shoes, routine physical activity (standing, walking, running), going barefoot, foot deformities, and many others.

If left untreated treated corns and calluses might grow larger until you fix what caused them to develop in the first place. These can be painful and make walking difficult

Don’t try to treat corns or calluses if you have diabetes, have poor circulation, are prone to infections or have delicate skin.

At Steel City Foot Care we have many options to help patients with treatment of their corns and calluses. please contact our office today to schedule an appointment.

Nail trimming

Routine foot care visits involving trimming, thinning, and filing of toenails are designed to improve a patient’s mobility, decrease their fall risk, provide overall foot and shoe comfort.

We cut toenails using very high quality clippers. In many cases we may need to reduce thickening of the nails first. We do this using a series of specialized instruments operated by a high quality podiatry drill. Our drills are very quiet and vibration free.

Ingrown Toenails

An ingrown toenail is a foot condition that develops when the corner of your toenail grows down into your skin. It typically affects the big toe, but it can affect any of them.

Most commonly caused by incorrectly cutting toenails, improper fitting shoes, or toe trauma. If left untreated these can become often painful and lead to infection with the need to see a podiatrist.

The best way to treat an ingrown toenail is through prevention. A foot care nurse can provide routine toenail trimming and foot care maintenance.

Dry Cracked Heels

A common condition for many, that is form of dry skin. A variety of common factors include age, trauma, and most importantly lack of maintenance. Dry, flaky skin can be a sign of a-topic dermatitis, a fungal infection, or nutritional deficiencies.

An assessment by a foot care nurse can help create a plan to bring your feet back to new.
